The 120kW gasoline engine electric dynamometer test bench system is a high-performance power testing device, whose core advantage lies in the adoption of advanced energy regeneration technology. This system can accurately simulate various complex working conditions that the engine may encounter in actual operation, so as to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of its performance. During operation, it can efficiently convert the mechanical energy output by the engine into electrical energy and feed it back to the power grid. This not only realizes the recycling of energy, but also can accurately measure the core performance parameters of the engine such as power, torque and speed under different load conditions, providing a solid data support for engine research and development improvement, production manufacturing and quality inspection work.

1). GB/T 18297-2024 "Performance test code for road vehicle engines": Applicable to M and N type automobile gasoline and diesel engines (excluding free piston type, other fuel engines can refer to it).

2). GB/T 19055-2024 "Reliability test methods for motor vehicle engines": Applicable to M and N type automotive reciprocating and rotary engines (excluding free piston engines). It clarifies the reliability test and evaluation methods of the whole test bench, stipulates equipment configuration, test procedures (alternating load, etc.), parameter monitoring, and result evaluation, and provides a standardized test process.

(I) Electric Dynamometer

As the core component for realizing the loading and dragging functions of the engine, it is mainly composed of an AC motor body, a torque sensor and a special mounting base. The equipment adopts a self-developed high-end dynamometer unit, matched with a customized torque sensor, which can complete the real-time measurement of torque parameters while accurately controlling the loading and dragging operations of the engine.

(II) Variable Frequency Inverter System

Frequency conversion control device is used to regulate the operating state of the electric dynamometer. This system has bidirectional operation capability, which can not only carry out forward loading on the engine, but also perform reverse dragging. At the same time, it can directly feed back the electrical energy generated during the dynamometer process to the power grid, achieving efficient energy recovery and reuse.

(III) XLE-1000 Measurement and Control System and Control Software

The XLE-1000 measurement and control system serves as the control center of the entire test bench. It establishes a communication connection with the frequency conversion speed regulation system through a bus to realize the setting and regulation of test working conditions. The system can receive various collected parameters, integrate and control external auxiliary equipment, and support the full automatic operation of the test process. It has a high degree of compatibility, openness and flexibility, which can not only achieve seamless communication and control with the engine controller, but also be compatible with the integration needs of users' own equipment.

(IV) Data Acquisition System

Equipped with various types of sensors such as temperature and pressure sensors and data acquisition modules, it is responsible for collecting parameters such as temperature and pressure of each key part of the engine, and uploading them to the measurement and control system through data interfaces, so as to realize real-time display, recording and analysis of parameters, and provide comprehensive data basis for test evaluation.

(V) Main Auxiliary Equipment

  1. Throttle Control Device: Adopts a motor-driven throttle actuator, which can flexibly adjust the throttle opening. It has the characteristics of large output torque, fast response speed and excellent dynamic performance. It is suitable for various dynamic test scenarios of the engine and can accurately control the working state of the throttle.
  2. Fuel Consumption Measuring Instrument: Equipped with a transient fuel consumption meter, which can accurately measure the fuel consumption of gasoline, diesel and other engines. At the same time, it is supplemented with a fuel and pressure regulating device to ensure the stability of the fuel supply pressure of the engine and meet the requirements in the test process.
  3. Coolant Temperature Control Equipment: With PLC as the control core and a proportional control valve as the executive component, it is specially used to regulate the temperature of the engine coolant. Its plate heat exchanger and pipeline are made of stainless steel, which has the characteristics of high control precision and rapid response, ensuring the stable operation of the engine during the test.
